Important Things to Know

  • All our classes are 45 minutes in length unless otherwise posted.
  • Classes are held once a week on the same day and time each week.
  • Classes are not held on statutory holidays, or on the weekend of a statutory holiday. They will resume the following week.
  • Our classes are designed for adult learners. We allow 2 people per dog to attend class, however, only one person will be allowed to work with the dog for the entire lesson. The other person will be directed to a sitting area where they can watch the class. Attendees must be over the age of twelve (12) to observe the class, and over the age of sixteen (16) to participate. Those observing must remain quiet and in their seats until class is over. This is to provide a less distracting environment and a more positive training experience for both the student and the dog. Please note that spectators are not allowed at the Pet First Aid course.
  • Most of our classes include videos or e-booklets for all of the exercises we do each week so your family practice at home with your dog.
  • We have a ratio of 1 trainer for every 3 dogs. Only 6 dogs are allowed in class.
  • We use positive marker-based reward and games based training methods. No punishment or aversive methods are allowed in class. Prong (pinch), choke, shock or bark collars are not allowed on the premises.
  • EARLY SIGNUP REWARD - Sign up for your next group class before your dog's current class ends, and receive 10% off the regular price of their next group class. All you need to do is put in the Notes section of the Registration Form – “Currently in class, Early Signup Reward please.” You must sign up before your current class ends and it only applies to the dog that is currently in class. It is not transferable to another dog. This will also help ensure that you reserve your spot early so that you don’t miss out on the group class that you want. Now both you and your dog get rewarded!
  • NO REFUND POLICY - Once payment has been submitted for your course or seminar, there are no refunds or credits. There are no refunds or credits if you drop out class or miss any classes.
  • You will not be able to make-up any missed lessons or switch to another class. If you have to miss a class, review the exercises from the e-book or video links that were sent to you at the start of class.
  • If your dog is ill on a class day, and you are able, please come to the school without your dog, to watch the lesson. This will enable you to continue with the lessons at home during the week.
  • If your dog is unable to come back to class due to illness or injury, please send a vet note and a courtesy credit will be issued towards a future class(es).
  • Please do not register for a class if you have concerns about your dog’s temperament or behaviour. Instead email us at info@whoswalkingwho.ca with your concerns.
  • If the trainer determines that your dog is not comfortable in a group class, you will not be allowed to continue. The office will issue a full refund and provide other options to help you and your dog.
  • If you suspect a class may be postponed due to weather, please check the ticker tape on our website 2 hours prior to your class start time. If it is postponed, we will continue the course the following week. In which case your course will finish 1 week later.
