My puppy is 5 months old. Should he be going into Puppy Pre-school, or Family Dog class?

You should register him in the Family Dog Program. Puppy Pre-school is for puppies who are between the age of 10 and 15 weeks on lesson #1.

I would like to register my dog for one of your classes. How do I know if there is still space available?

It is our aim to keep our website up to date. We will mark a class as full asap. We work on a first sent-first serve basis. We may have space when you call, and then a registration (or 2) may show up. Our classes fill in a week or an hour. Best bet? Send it to us as soon as you can. There is no payment required until the class meets the minimum number of dogs.

I have attended a Puppy Pre-school class with my dog when he was 3 months old. He did learn basic commands such as sit and lie down in Puppy Pre-school. He is now 5 months old. Should he go into Family Dog or Practical Living?

Our Family Dog Program is designed to be the class taken after any Puppy Pre-school. Although you may have learned some of the basics, it is not a good idea to rush your training. Family Dog will cover walking on leash, staying while the handler is across the room (and other dogs beside them), making sure they understand down / stay and Family Dog builds on manners and relationship issues. At 5 months of age we still have to address jumping up on people, manners at the door and paying attention. The bulk of the training theory, that you will use in more advanced classes, is taught in Family Dog.

I have sent in my registration, but have not had any confirmation that I have been accepted into the course. Can you please let me know if you received it?

Our on-line registration system is designed to send you an automatic email as soon as we receive your registration. If you do not see an email come through, please go back to your registration and check your email address. If it was spelled wrong, you will not get a confirmation from us. If it is correct, please check your junk/spam folder as it may have gone there. As soon as the class you registered for goes forward, you will get a second email as a confirmation. If you don't receive this second email, it means that the class doesn't have the minimum number of dogs yet. If the class you registered for is slated to start in a day or two and you have not heard from us, please call or send an email. Thanks.

I would like to register for a class. Do I have to pay when I register?

Our on-line registration system will send you an automatic email to let you know we received your registration. However, payment is not due until you receive a Final Confirmation from us. The Final Confirmation will have a payment link and is sent as soon as we have the minimum number of dogs needed to run the class. That is when we will require payment to hold your spot in the class. If it is getting close to the start of your class and you have not received the Final Confirmation, please check your junk/spam folder as it may be there. If it’s not, please let us know.

I would like to register for a class, but do not want to use PayPal and would like to make sure that I get a spot. Is there any other way I can pay?

We do require your payment before class starts to hold your spot. Your Final Confirmation will have a payment link to PayPal which is very safe and secure. However, if you prefer to pay with Visa or M/C that is not a problem. Just let us when is a good time to call you and what phone number we should use. We also accept e-transfers but be sure to add 13% HST to the cost of your course for your total payment. If you plan to use either of those methods, please indicate this in the Notes section of the registration form. If you prefer to pay by cheque you can drop if off or mail it to our Ajax Head Office only. If no one is at the office, please put your payment in an envelope and slip it under the door. Also remember to put a note with it indicating your dog’s name, class name, date, and location so we can match your payment to your registration.
