CGN/Dog Therapy Prep

The CANINE GOOD NEIGHBOR test is a 12 part evaluation used by CKC and other organizations, prior to dogs going into therapy work, or as an indicator of a solid temperament. It will prepare you and your dog for each of the exercises. Even if you don't plan on doing the test or therapy work, this class is the next level after our Intermediate class.

This course consists of putting obedience skills into highly distracting exercises, including greeting "strangers" and other dogs politely, accepting grooming and examination, door etiquette and making sure the dogs feel comfortable being out of your sight and more.

Dogs must be non-reactive to other dogs and people and not engage in barking. They must have good loose leash walking skills and a solid stay. If your dog pulls continually on leash, you will need take either Walk This Way or Stress Free Walks first.

The test is done by evaluators at random times around the GTA. Dates and locations can be found by searching on line.

Prerequisite: Dogs must be non-reactive and have Practical Living Intermediate or an Intermediate group class taken elsewhere.

Course Fee: $231.00 (+ taxes)     Length: 6 weeks
