* Classes will be postponed on any stat holidays or the weekends of a stat holiday, and resume the following week.
Life Skills This program was previously known as Practical Living but has been completely redesigned and now includes the exercises that your dog will need to master in order to achieve their Canine Good Neighbour or Dog Therapy Certificate. This program will also prepare your dog for Novice Level Obedience trialing and Rally Obedience. This is a highly advanced class that works on emergency stays, door deliveries, door etiquette, walking past food at nose level, “L” shaped heelwork, distance downs, supervised isolation, long sits and downs, recall, crowds, noise, and more. IMPORTANT: If you have taken Family Dog but have not taken Game On or Great Beginnings you may be required to take one of those classes before Life Skills. Dogs MUST be able to ignore distractions in the environment and have solid impulse control before taking Life Skills. PLEASE NOTE: We are not a CGN or Dog Therapy testing site. This course is designed to help prepare dogs & owners for the CGN and Dog Therapy test. Information regarding testing sites can be found online through the CKC website, & Therapeutic Paws of Canada. After Life Skills your dog will be ready to move onto Rally Obedience Level 1. IMPORTANT: Not all courses are the same. If you have taken an “equivalent” course elsewhere, we will assess your dog on lesson 1 to determine if they are ready for this program. PLEASE BE SURE TO SELECT THE CORRECT LOCATION. Click on the column titled LOCATION to sort the classes by location. If you Select a class that is marked CLASS FULL, you will be put on a wait list. Is your dog currently in a class with us, be sure to put in the Notes section of the Registration Form “Currently in class, Early Signup Reward please.” to get 10% off the price of this class.
