Private Great Beginnings This course is only offered at our Ajax location and is perfect if you want other family members to attend, if you are uncomfortable attending a group class, or if you just prefer 1 on 1 training. Do you struggle with your dog when outside? How about when people come to your home? Whether your dog has entered their adolescent phase or is older and has developed some unwanted behaviours, this program will help prepare your dog for real-life situations. Great Beginnings works on behaviours such as impulse control, calmness, disengagement from the environment, engagement with you, proximity (hanging out with you), focus, working in arousal (when they're excited or scared), being able to bring their arousal level down, and much more. This course utilizes games-based concept training, which helps reshape your dog's brain, so that they learn to make better decisions. Like not chasing that pesky squirrel, resisting the urge to pick up stuff while out on walks, going crazy when they see another dog, being fearful of new things, remaining calm when someone comes to your home and other undesirable behaviours. The exercises are fun and adaptable to the individual dog. We also share with you the science behind how and why the games work to produce real-life results. You will need to bring your dog's bed, elevated bed, or mat to every class. Prerequisite: Dog must be minimum 4 months of age Course Fee: $540.00 (+ taxes) Length: 6 weeks Notes: When you submit your registration, you will receive an email stating that we’re waiting for the minimum number of dogs.
